Apple Founder Steve Jobs Passes Away At 56


Last Night, Apple Co-Founder and Chairman Steve Jobs passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 56

The innovator in technology had battled pancreatic cancer since 2004 and received a liver transplant in 2009. He held his post as CEO of Apple until January when he stepped down citing medical issues with no set date of return. In his lifetime, not only did Jobs help make Apple one of the largest and most successful technology corporations in the world, launching initiates like the iTunes store, he also helped Pixar become a viable production company before he sold it to Disney.

“Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me … Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.”

Jobs was also known for his ability to motivate and inspire. In 2005, he delivered a commencement speech at Stanford titled, ‘How To Live Before You Die, where he detailed his battle of cancer while sending the message that if you live as if there is no tomorrow, than you will never feel like you have something to lose.

"Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure – these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
